St. Margaret’s School Celebrates the Class of 2022 at 99th Commencement Exercises

(Tappahannock Va.) – On Saturday, June 4 St. Margaret’s School held its 99th commencement exercises. As the school embarks upon its Centennial, this year’s ceremony included new traditions.

Each class member rang the school's victory bell signaling the beginning of their commencement in a short walk around St. Margaret's Hall. On the graduation stage, a Prefect tapped each graduate to stand and await the announcement of her name by the Dean. Once announced, each graduate received their diploma from the Chair of the St. Margaret's Board of Governors. Head of School Colley Bell shared remarks about every senior before they signed their name out of the school registry. The graduate's last act was to ring out of the school.

“St. Margaret’s Class of 2022 is an eclectic group of scholars, artists, and athletes,” said Colley Bell, Head of School. “This group showed incredible resilience through the COVID pandemic. The entire St. Margaret’s School community wishes them success as they matriculate this fall to colleges around the United States.”
