Teaching & Learning

"Learn by Doing" is our St. Margaret's faculty mantra as a learned community. Teaching at St. Margaret's is a calling as teachers are drawn to the river-front campus, where the synergies of cross-discipline studies fold into our noble river. Instilling a love of learning is a primary goal in mind, body, and spirit.

In the wake of COVID and how social media frames the young as isolated individuals, we engage in hands-on scholarship. Whether it is sitting at one of our discussion tables in our humanities classes or collaborating in math and engineering classes, students are engrossed in the education of consequence. Every student sits in the front row.

It is a traditional liberal arts education where individuals function together with an explicit orientation to the common good. The faculty instill wonderment in learning and an appreciation of being on the earth for the public good.

We are an Episcopal all-girls school propelled by a remarkable and committed faculty, and we are grateful for their grace in inspirational teaching.
